• Installed and maintained high-performance storage systems for data processing/indexing and application data retrieval; designed and deployed core storage solution based on HP EVA 4400 SAN
• Developed distributed, high-performance, enterprise-class XML-based web service and database gateway for the delivery of data warehouse records to end-user applications, both internal and external; established company as a major player in B2B resale of public and publicly-accessible records information
• Created resilient, multi-homed network topology incorporating redundant Metro Ethernet WAN links, redundant Cisco routers, managed L3 switches, security appliances (ASA 5500 series w/ AIPs), and content load balancers (CSS 11500 series), and four Tier 1 external connections managed by eBGP and providing >200 Mbps of Internet bandwidth
• Leveraged new technologies to smash through limitations of traditional server software and hardware platforms; implemented redundant MySQL Cluster solution to handle demands of multi-million user account and application session management system; used Apache Lucene text search engine library to overcome performance deficiencies of traditional relational database architecture
• Established tight software development cycles following a regimented staging protocol, controlled by Subversion RCS and Bugzilla, and featuring efficient, productive peer reviews; initiated transition to virtual machine-based development architecture based on VMware ESX Server and VMotion
• Deployed SolarWinds Orion Network Performance Monitor with NetFlow Traffic Analyzer, APC managed three-phase PDUs, Avocent DSR KVM over IP switches, and environmental sensors to provide crisis-proven network monitoring and emergency management capabilities
